HESC-T-014 passive optical isolation interface converter is compatible with RS-232C and RS-485 standards. It can convert single-ended RS-232 signals into balanced differential RS-485 signals. The built-in optical isolator can provide up to 2500 Vrms Isolation voltage, with fast transient voltage suppression protector. This protector is designed to protect the RS-485 interface. It uses today's advanced TVS(TRANSIENT VOLTAGE SUPPRESSOR). Under normal circumstances, the TVS tube is high Resistance state, when both ends of the TVS tube experience an instantaneous high-energy impact, it can reduce the impedance at both ends at an extremely high speed and absorb large current, thus clamping the voltage at both ends at a predetermined value to protect the the circuit components behind are not damaged by transient high-voltage shocks. This protector can effectively suppress lightning and ESD, providing 600W lightning surge protection power per wire, as well as surge voltages and voltages generated on the wire due to various reasons. Transient over-voltage and extremely small inter-electrode capacitance ensure high-speed transmission of the RS-485 interface. The RS-232 interface is connected to a compatible RS-232C standard interface through a DB9 female connector, and the RS-485 end is connected through a DB9. The male connector is the output end. The converter has zero-delay automatic transceiver conversion. The unique I/O circuit automatically controls the data flow direction without any handshake signals (such as RTS, DTR, etc.) with half-duplex (RS-485). mode conversion, plug and play. All these functions ensure HESC-T-014 to be suitable for all existing communication software and interface hardware, and not require any software modifications to the previous RS-232 based working method.

Each point-to-multipoint converter can allow the connection of 32 RS-485 interface devices, with a data communication rate of 300-38,400 bps, supported communication methods including RS-232 to RS-485 conversion.
